Department of periodontology & oral implantology

• Department of Periodontology & Oral Implantology prides itself with a grand and impressive infrastructure for both Undergraduate and postgraduate training program, patient care, and for various research activities in the field of Periodontology with state of the art equipment, well equipped laboratories and a seminar room fully equipped with LCD projection.
• The department boasts of a voluminous library, well equipped with modern facilities and resources in the form of books where students have access to the latest information available in the literature.

Undergraduate program

• The undergraduate program includes curriculum enrichment exercises

• The undergraduate students are looked after by different mentors, who right from the very beginning groom the students
• At the departmental level the highly experienced faculty of the specialized department and the faculty incharge caters to both teaching in the form of smart board discussions, practical demonstrations and clinical work on patients
• Undergraduate students are trained with skills in a preclinical simulation lab to render nonsurgical and  periodontal procedures and are introduced to surgical procedures by observing and assisting as procedures as being performed
• Internal assessment exams, chair side and end posting exams on a regular basis to evaluate the student’s performance.

Postgraduate program

• The postgraduate program provides advance education and clinical expertise in the field of Periodontics & Oral Implantology.
• The program is well structured in a time bound format of 3 years with clearly defined and achievable academic goals.
• The vision of the program strives to acknowledge the students with latest advancements in periodontal hard and soft tissue surgeries, implants and treatment planning.
• The postgraduate section is well equipped with 18 fully functional, air conditioned dental chambers giving each student an individual space to flourish the ease of working.
• The department has a well equipped minor operation theatre comprising of the latest treatment modalities like RVG, Electrocautery, Diode Laser, Pulp tester, Ultrasonic scaler along with proper sterilization facilities available.
• Multimedia facilities like OHP and slide projectors are available in the departmental seminar room to aid with audio-video mode of education and presentations.
• Regenerative grafts, resorbable and non resorbable barrier membranes of best companies, excellent imported wound dressing materials, local drug delivery system medicaments, best splinting materials, atraumatic suturing needles, all varieties of suturing materials, are being used to treat OPD cases.
• Implant Dentistry: The department boasts of latest diagnostic and exclusive surgical instruments for implants placement comprising of radiological diagnostic techniques like CBCT along with physio-dispenser with fiberoptic handpiece, peizosurgery unit, autoimpression unit and all required implant drills.
• Hands on training in various implant systems including surgical training and clinical exposure to use of lasers is being imparted as the part of the curriculum   
• Advanced Facial Esthetic Unit for performing various advance aesthetic procedures like Fillers, Botox and Hair PRP.
• Additional procedures like grafts, PRF, ridge split, bone augmentation and sinus lift are carried out
